Citation Generators

Use any of these links to create citations in a particular format.  Be sure to choose the proper style (MLA, APA, etc) and material type (electronic journal, website, book, etc).  CAUTION: YOU are responsible for ensuring that your citations are formatted correctly.  These tools will help you, but are not perfect!  

  • KnightCite  
    An online citation generator service provided by the Hekman Library of Calvin College. Register for free to store citations for different projects and create bibliographies.
  • EasyBib  
    Easy to use and free.
  • Zotero  
    An easy-to-use research tool that helps you gather, organize, and analyze information sources (citations, full texts, web pages, images, etc), and lets you share the results of your research in a variety of ways. This free download works with Firefox.
 
 

Attention!

Both MLA and APA citation styles changed a little bit in the summer of 2009.  Be sure to ask your instructors whether or not they require the new format.  All links provided in this page reflect the new rules.  Questions?  AskUs or call the library at - 632-2140.
